The School of Byzantine, ecclesiastical music

The Holy Metropolis of Lagada, Liti and Redina in the framework of ecclesiastical Ministration with the initiative and blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Ioannis announces the opening of the ‘’School of Byzantine and ecclesiastical music’’.

Courses started in October 2010 and take place in the youth center of Metropolis premises ‘’Saint Kyranna’’ (ex house of elderly) at the Street of Great Alexander 25.

  • Music (prepatory instruction) of Byzantine music
  • Phonetics and articulation
  • Choir of Byzantine Music

      The Studies for the diploma in Byzantine music last at least for 5 years. Moreover, to obtain a diploma in Byzantine music requires additional 2 years of studies. At the end of each academic year a promotion examination carried out by a Committee of professors of Byzantine music.

      Those who have knowledge of Byzantine music and wish to enhance them can take part in the exams of classification which are held every October.

      The School accepts students who have completed 9 years of age and have been previously in aural examination.


      The registrations in the classes of Byzantine music have already started. For additional information interested parties can contact the Deacon Father Ioannis Arseniadis from Monday to Friday 10.00 – 13.00 at the offices of the holy Metropolis Lagada, Liti and Redina.
